Creative Experiments Update

Sweet – I made my goal of doing three of the creative experiments at Daisy Yellow. See previous post and the link to the original post at Daisy Yellow if you’re confused.

The first experiment I did was to write about music. While waiting for a doctor’s appointment, I had my journal and time to kill. I could see a clock and decided to force myself to write stream-of-conscious about music. And I did just that. What was even better was that I wrote for nearly 20 minutes. The goal was only for eight minutes.

The second experiment I chose was to practice hand printing the alphabet. During game one Sunday, I got my sketchbook out, pulled out a curly font on my iPhone and went to town. This was not easy & I wasn’t overly pleased with the results, but I forced myself to do both capital and lower case alphas. I’m never going to improve if I don’t practice.

The last experiment was probably the most fun. It was to play a board game. I hadn’t planned on doing this experiment, I was going to do a different one, but one Sunday afternoon, Justin decided we should watch The Princess Bride & play Storming the Castle. The first round was a little rough as we got used to the rules because it was our first time playing. But the second round ended up being an absolute blast. That was some of the most fun I’d had in a while. I want to spend another Sunday afternoon playing board games or cards sooner rather than later.

This is totally inspiring! Think of how often we forget to play! And Storming the Castle is a real (for all ages!) thing!? Wonderful!!
